안경을 쓰는 사람이라면 아시겠지만 우리나라에선 안경을 새로 맞추러 갈때 시간을 엄청 오래잡진 않자나요?

I never really thought of this as anything special. (Yet, every time, it still amazes me…)
But then, I saw an episode of "Welcome, First Time in Korea?" where a foreigner visited an optical shop in Korea and was completely surprised by the speed.
That got me curious—how does this compare to other countries?
1.빠르고 편리해요
한국은 안경점에서 안경을 맞추는 과장이 굉장히 빠르고 효율적입니다.대부분 안경점에서 무료로 시력검사가 가능하기 때문에 특별한 경우가 아니라면 그자리에서 시력 측정 후 바로 안경을 맞출수 있거든요.
안경테를 고르고 안경을 주문하면 10분~최대30분정도 기다리시면 바로 그자리에서 안경을 받으실 수 있어요.
해외 ( 특히 미국, 유럽)에서는 안경을 맞추는 과정이 조금 복잡하다고 해요.안과에 방문해서 처방전을 받고 안경점에 가야한다고 합니다.그리고 안경을 주문 제작후 며칠에서 몇주까지도 걸릴 수 있다고 하니 한국과 차이가 많이 나는듯해요.
1. Fast and Convenient
In Korea, getting a new pair of glasses is an incredibly quick and efficient process. Most optical shops offer free eye exams, so unless you have special circumstances, you can get your eyesight checked on the spot and order your glasses right away.
Once you’ve chosen a frame and placed your order, you typically only need to wait around 10 to 30 minutes before receiving your new glasses—right then and there!
On the other hand, in many countries, particularly the U.S. and Europe, the process is more complicated. You usually need to visit an eye clinic to get a prescription first, then take it to an optical shop to order your glasses. Since most glasses are custom-made, it can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks to receive them. The difference between Korea and other countries is quite significant!
2.비용 차이가 크다
한국에서는 저렴한 가격에 안경을 구매하기 좋은데요.
일반인 안경테와 렌즈를 3만원대 정도부터 구매가 가능해요.
어린이인 경우 무료 안경테도 있어서 핸드폰이나 패드를 많이 보는 요즘. 아이들 시력이 정말 걱정이 많이 되는데요.
의료적인 면에서 우리나라는 참 잘되있는거 같아요.
해외에서는 안경이 상당히 비싼편인데요.특히 미국의 경우 안경테 가격만 해도100달러 이상이고 렌즈까지 하면 500달러 이상인 경우도 많다고 하더라구요.가족 중 몇명이 안경을 맞춰야 한다면 부담이 굉장히 클거같아요.
2. Significant Price Differences
In Korea, glasses are quite affordable. You can find basic frames and lenses starting from around 30,000 KRW (~$25).
For children, some optical shops even offer free frames, which is a great relief for parents, especially nowadays when kids spend a lot of time looking at screens. Given how important eye health is, it’s reassuring that Korea has such a well-developed and accessible system for eyewear.
In contrast, glasses can be quite expensive in other countries. In the U.S., for example, basic frames alone often cost over $100, and with prescription lenses, the total can easily exceed $500. 3.시력검사 비용?
한국에서는 대부분 안경점에 기기가 갖춰져 있기 때문에 무료로 언제든지 시력측정을 할 수 있어요.
꼭 구매하는 사람에게만 제공되는 해택이 아니기 때문에 궁금하다면 언제든 방문해서 빠르고 정확하게 시력 검사를 할수 있답니다.

5.AS 가능 여부
한국에서는 구매 후에도 안경 조정, 코받침 교체나 렌즈 정밀 세척,안경닦기 수건 제공 등 다양한 관련 서비스를 무료로 받으실 수 있어요.보통은 직접 구매한 매장에서 하시는 경우가 많으나 부득이하다면 가까운 안경점에서도 흥쾌히 서비스 해주시는 곳이 대부분이에요.
하지만 해외에서는 대부분 유료인 경우가 많으며, 일부 고급 브랜드 매장에서만 AS를 제공합니다.
구매 후에도 비용이 발생 된다는 점이 너무 다르네요.
아이들의 경우엔 특히나 부러지거나 안경이 틀어져서 다시 조정해야 하는경우가 많은데
